I didn't want to be like a fan boy or something. He did walk me out and shit. He was hella cool...but I got to meet him and that's all that counted for me.

"Keeper of the Master List"
is he fairly easy going, or intimidating? i'm always scared if i tried to meet him he'd ignore me, or something. since so many people wanna meet him

He's chill. I think it's the way you approach him. Like when I met him, it was cool because I didn't immediately ask him for an autograph or pic. We just chatted for a while and then I left to talk to the other guys and then went back and what not. When I asked him if I could get a pic and autograph, he was like, yeah, no problem at all. Really cool.
a 7 string bass is totally necessary if you're a bassist and can actually think outside of root notes...and put down your pick(picks are for pussies on bass) a 7 string bass is a center for unlimited creativity.

Deron Miller just plays a 4 string guitar, & he's one of the best technical guitarists i've ever heard. and he's original as hell. it's not the strings, it's the player

i didn't say you couldn't be a phenominal and technical player with just 4 strings...hell i didn't buy that 7 string because I prefer 4 strings..I'm just saying it opens up complete new doors. Flea is...meh yeah he's good but there are so much better. BILLY SHEEHAN!(would eat him alive) VIC WOOTEN(no one is funkier) even Les Claypool if you've seen primus live you'd know how awesome he is...the cd's don't even convey him to be that good...but once they do some live improvs and shit...then the talent comes out.
Here is my bass, I considered a 5 string. But I don't think I will rock anything but my 88 Short scale Fender bullet. Or a 57 Jazz deluxe would be nice too

I was a Ken Smith Bass, a Ken Bebincy bass, an F bass, or a Warwick(without those shitty ass factory strings that suck balls) unfortunatly for me all of these basses are over a grand. there is only one warwick I like that's under a grand.
that's a bad ass bass man and I really don't like fender that much. I have a 4 string Fender P-bass strung BEAD with the heavy gauge strings and then an Ibanez EDB-600 with the active EQ setup standard tuned..because it has a small er jazz style neck that is faster and much more comfortable to play..plus it's 24 frets.
belive it or not if you want a GREAT bass for super cheap get a Schecter Stiletto...and not the Elite 4's just the C-1 stiletto or whatever it is...with the natural wood grain finish and the EMG's that bass sounded so much brighter and tighter than some of the warwicks..I was AMAZED. And then we got in the Stiletto Elite 4's and i thought I was in for a treat...don't get me wrong the E4's rock but they are no where near the playability of the other..suprisingly cheaper version.
Never heard of that brand. I'll check them out next time I see one.
On a side note. I recently bought a acoustic guitar, and plan on getting an acoustic bass. So far I've fallen in love with Taylor's acoutic bass - I forget what model...
Iowa - Do you play acoustic bass at all?
